USASpending.gov is the official open data source for all federal government spending — contracts, grants, loans, and other financial assistance. It provides searchable access to who received federal dollars, how much, from which agency, and for what purpose.
USASpending is the most powerful free competitive intelligence tool available to government contractors. You can search by contractor name to see competitors' award histories, by agency to understand spending patterns, or by NAICS code to size your market.
Key uses for contractors: identifying incumbent contractors on expiring contracts (recompete opportunities), estimating realistic pricing for proposals, finding potential teaming partners who have relationships with target agencies, and understanding which agencies spend the most in your industry.
Data goes back to FY2008 and is updated at least twice monthly. The site includes interactive visualizations, downloadable datasets, and an API for programmatic access.
