What Happened to FedBizOpps?

FedBizOpps (fbo.gov) was shut down on November 12, 2019, and all functionality was migrated to SAM.gov. If you search for FedBizOpps today, you'll be redirected to SAM.gov. All historical solicitations that were posted on FBO are now available through SAM.gov's contract opportunities search.

Why People Still Search for FedBizOpps

Despite being retired for over six years, "FedBizOpps" and "FBO" remain common search terms because:

For broader coverage across all government levels, contractors typically use aggregator platforms that pull from SAM.gov plus hundreds of additional procurement portals.

FedBizOpps vs SAM.gov: What Changed

SAM.gov consolidated several legacy systems: FedBizOpps (opportunities), SAM (entity registration), FPDS (award data), DSBS (small business directory), and others.
