What is WOSB / Women-Owned Small Business?

A WOSB set-aside vehicle limits competition to firms certified as Women-Owned Small Businesses (51%+ owned, controlled, and operated by women). EDWOSB (Economically-Disadvantaged WOSB) is a narrower subset where the women owners also meet personal net-worth limits similar to 8(a): even smaller bid pools.

WOSB set-asides apply only in specific NAICS codes where the SBA has determined women are underrepresented. The list is reviewed every 5 years; current eligibility is published at sba.gov/wosb. NAICS not on the list can't be WOSB set-aside, but WOSB firms can still bid full-and-open.
