What this means
The standard rate is the default: if a county is not on GSA's locality table, federal travelers and contractors billing travel use the standard lodging maximum and the standard M&IE. GSA revises the table each October 1.
Before pricing travel into a bid, check the locality in the free per diem lookup; a city on the table can be two to four times the standard lodging rate in season.
